Our History

Muni earned his livelihood by gathering honey in the forest located on the foothills of the Siruvani hills. His family was starving for a week now. Due to the heavy rain it was impossible for him to find his way in the forest.

That is when he heard the sound of that wild animal. Before he could identify what it was he was attacked. He screamed for help……

By the time his adivasi brothers found him he had lost too much blood. He did not know if he would lose his life like many of his adivasi relatives. He saw the painful look in his wife’s eyes. He saw the tears in his children’s eyes. He did not know what they would do without him. He wanted to tell them that everything would be fine. But would it?........

Mr. S.Prabu, our founder, since his childhood felt a strong calling to serve the community.

Once while he was sightseeing, enjoying the beauty of the Siruvani hills, he noticed many tribals who inhabited the forest at the foothills of the Siruvani hills rushing to help one of them who was attacked by a wild animal in the forest. But before they could get him medical help he passed away right in front of their eyes.

Mr. Prabu was very disturbed to see this. He noticed the pain in his family’s eyes as they lost their sole breadwinner.

This incident changed Mr.Prabu’s life. He decided that his calling to serve the society should start from right here.

Close to this adivasi settlement, he bought a small piece of land from his savings. He built a hut for himself and settled down there. This was in 2004.

Mr. Prabu was moved by the plight of the Adivasis. Their poor living conditions, their lack of education, lack of hygiene, their dependency on the forest for their livelihood and several other factors which denied them the right to lead a respectable life. From then on, he worked tirelessly to better their conditions. Looking at his unwavering efforts to make a difference to numerous lives many people joined him.

For 7 years Mr. Prabu and his dedicated team worked tirelessly with the adivasi families as well as other poor families in the surrounding villages.

Birth of the Thiru Oli Charitable Trust

In 2010, in order to consolidate and widen the community initiatives of Mr.Prabu and his dedicated team ‘Thiru Oli Charitable Trust’ was registered in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.

‘Thiru Oli’ means ‘Divine Light’ in Tamil.
